A year ago I was recommended to read “Just Kids” by Patti Smith, and I was also recommended to read it in English and not in translation. I knew little of Patti Smith, but was instantly caught by the language and the story. Since then I have bought the records and also love them.
Therefore Friday was a special day, one of those days where you should make a mark in your memory. I heard Patti Smith at “Louisiana Literature” answering questions about her book, poetry and life. And for once I don’t have much to say, just a strong urge to read her words again, listen to the music and bow my head in respect.
I will abstain from making a whole analysis of her, her life, choices and preferences, enough people try to do that. I will just recommend everyone to read “Just Kids”.
